Virginia Chair. Copied from an originial c.1770 chair in Yorktown, VA. Probably made in Williamsburg, VA. There are two similiar chairs in Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello, near Charlottesville, VA. The Monticello chairs have the medial stretcher attached to the front legs, rather than to the side stretchers. Walnut. Leather seat with horsehair padding.
