| Threaded Candlestand Adjustable candlestands of this design were used in the 17th and 18th centuries. The tray as well as the candle holder will turn on the threaded center column to be adjusted up or down. The tray could be used as a place to hold 'necessities for any domestik task needing goode light'. Typically painted with a very durable paint made of milk, lime, and earth colors. |
